Every year across the country, entrepreneurs start over 620,000 new businesses. If you’re getting ready to start your own company soon, one of the first decisions you’ll have to make it what kind of form your business will take.
If you’re planning to incorporate in some form or become a limited liability corporation, navigating the legal aspects of business formation can be confusing. Fortunately, when it comes to legally establishing your business, you do not have to go it alone.
IncFile can assist you with all of the legal aspects of filing your LLC, and even provides further services that can help your startup thrive. Let’s take a look at IncFile, so you can determine whether or not it could help your company.
Onto our IncFile review!
What is IncFile?
IncFile is an LLC formation service that assists companies with filing all of the paperwork required to become an LLC. The company specializes in providing low cost, full-service LLC formation support, including name verification, and the preparation and filing of all necessary business articles; they also provide support for the formation of S and C corporations as well as nonprofits.
IncFile also provides a registered agent service. Beyond legal support, IncFile also provides a host of other services to new companies as well, including compliance support, tax advice, banking, and other advisory services; they can also help you dissolve your business if the need arises.
How it Works
IncFile is easy to use, which is a major plus if you’ve never established a business before. The first thing you need to do is determine the type of business form you wish to establish. IncFile provides links to state guides on LLCs and other corporation types, so you can review those if you do not have your own legal experts on hand. Then, once you determine the business type, you select the type of support package you’d like to get from IncFile.
There are three priced levels of IncFile support: Silver, which is the basic package, and costs $75; Gold, which costs $224; and Platinum, which is their premium support package and costs $374. The Gold and Platinum packages build off of the basic silver package, adding more services at each new pricing tier.
Once you’ve selected your support package, you’ll provide detailed information about your business, and they will complete all of the work to legally form your business.
IncFile Customer Service

IncFile has a rating of 4.1 on Trustpilot with 62 reviews, which is considered “great.” Of those reviews, 73 percent are excellent, while 23 percent are bad. Most of the complaints about IncFile on Trustpilot indicate that customer service was poor.
IncFile has also been accredited with the Better Business Bureau since 2004 as well. However, while it remains accredited, IncFile does not currently carry a rating, and there is a message on the BBB website about IncFile indicating that “while this company is currently an Accredited Business of the Better Business Bureau, the company has developed a pattern of complaints. Accredited businesses must be free of any pattern and they must devise a plan to eliminate the pattern.”
IncFile Pros and Cons
Here are some of the key pros and cons for IncFile you should consider:
- Inexpensive. The IncFile platform is relatively inexpensive and provides sufficient legal support to get your business up and running. They are definitely the cheapest broadly available online legal service operating at this time.
- Additional Services. Beyond the legal support, the other services that IncFile provides are well priced and exactly what a young company needs to get it rolling out of the gate. The registered agent service alone is a great bargain.
- Customer Service. While there are thousands of positive customer service reviews online for IncFile, there are indications on Trustpilot and the BBB that the company is having some issues with customer service, particularly its responsiveness to customer queries.
- Virtual. All of your legal support from IncFile will come online, over the phone or through the mail. If you are more comfortable dealing face to face with a person, you may want to hire a local legal firm to support your business formation, recognizing you are likely going to pay more for its services.
There are similar online platforms offering services comparable to IncFile. The company’s most significant alternative and biggest competitor is Legal Zoom. However, several other online legal platforms offer similar services, including ZenBusiness, Rocket Lawyer, and Corporate Creations. So, do a little research and see if the services these other firms offer are what your company needs right now.
Is IncFile better than Legal Zoom? Yes, we think the service provided by IncFile is more streamlined with better systems than the services provided by LegalZoom.
